With over 16,000 entries each year, the annual Decanter World Wine Awards is one of the largest and most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
We are delighted to announce that our inaugural te Pā Chardonnay has won GOLD receiving an outstanding 96 points out of 100. For a Marlborough winery to win such an accolade on the international stage is a point of huge pride for our team.
The Decanter World Wine Awards are the pinnacle of wine judging. Over five days, 244 judges, including 69 Masters of Wine, 26 Master Sommeliers and regional wine experts from around the world, split up into groups to taste thousands of wines and select the cream of the crop.

Hand-picked from our Bedford Rd Vineyard in the central Wairau Valley, the fruit was whole bunch pressed directly to barrel and left to ferment with “indigenous” yeasts. Blended, filtered and bottled in March 2016, our Chardonnay was ready to enjoy nearly a full year after the fruit was harvested.
