When Master of Wine Bob Campbell talks wine, people listen. So when Bob called our new Pinot Gris a 'perfectly balanced wine', you know it's coming from someone who knows their stuff.
Bob recently awarded our Gris a whopping 91 points and 4 stars, and named it his Buy of the Week. Having our wine ranked 4th out of 21 other Pinot Gris wines was the icing on the cake!
Here's what the respected MW has to say about our Pinot Gris:
"Fruity pinot gris with pear, quince and peach flavours together with a subtle seasoning of toasty yeast lees character. A perfectly balanced wine with a pleasantly drying finish."
Made from 100% Pinot Gris grapes from a single vineyard in Marlborough's Awatere Valley, the fruit for this wine was harvested in the cool evenings of April 2016. Naturally low cropping, our Redwood Hills vineyard in the Awatere provides richly scented fruit with concentrated flavours and a lovely natural balance. The Gris has picked up a slew of awards since we released it, including a gold medal at the Sydney International Wine Competition 2017.
If you are lucky enough to snap up a bottle of this aromatic white wine, and would like to match it with some delicious food, Bob recommends you try it with gnocchi, wild mushrooms, and a confit egg yolk. Heaven!
