Long thought of as one of the most influential guides to wine-buying, Cuisine reports (and often, sets) culinary trends for Kiwis and Aussies alike.
So of course, we are very pleased to see our 2016 Pā Road Pinot Gris awarded 4 stars and a 'Best Buy' rating from the magazine's judging panel in its Pinot Gris 2017 tastings.
Here's what the judges had to say:
"The Pa Road label always offers exceptional value. This new release has good weight and complexity, in part because a small amount of chardonnay (5%) has been blended in. It’s fragrant, with nuts and spice over fresh fruit coming through. A good aperitif style."
With incredible flavour and quality, and a price tag that surprises (RRP $14.99), this Pinot Gris is the perfect answer to the old age question of "which wine should I buy tonight?".
Want to know a little more about how we made this wine?
The Indian summer of 2015/2016 allowed us to hang the Pinot Gris on the vines late into April before picking on the 26th. The ripe fruit was gently pressed, and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
A small amount of a fresh, citrusy Chardonnay batch was added to the blend, to help naturally tighten the acidity and add length and texture. Check out the full tasting and technical note for more information.
Now stocked around New Zealand in key grocery and liquor stores, we reckon you should keep an eye out for this exceptional drop of Pinot Gris.
