The story of our lovely 2014 Pā Road Pinot Noir is the stuff of legends. We released it in October 2016, and within weeks it had won the title of 'Wine of the Show' at the Marlborough Wine Show.
As you might imagine, the wine has basically sold out in the couple of months since then.
So, that brings us to our new release of the same wine; the divine 2015 vintage. Bottled in early 2017, the latest addition to the Pā Road range is fragrant, elegant and poised - just ask wine critic Sam Kim of Wine Orbit.
Sam recently gave our new Pinot Noir a whopping 93 points and 5 stars, saying of the delicious wine:
"Beautifully ripe and fragrant, the complex bouquet shows dark cherry, plum, smoked game, nutmeg and subtle spice characters. The palate is concentrated and rounded, and offers excellent fruit weight and intensity, while remaining elegant and poised. The wine displays silky texture and supple tannins, finishing persistent and attractive."
Um... yum! As with all of our Pā Road wines, the latest release is easy drinking, offering world class quality and exceptional value.
Sourced from a single vineyard in the prestigious Southern Valleys subregion of Marlborough, the Pā Road Pinot Noir was aged for 9 months in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, which allowed the tannins to soften and the oak to integrate. We left the wine to undergo natural malo-lactic fermentation into the spring which resulted in the rich and well-rounded wine we have to offer to you today.
