Pa Road 2018 Pinot Gris has been awarded a ‘Best Buy’ accolade from wine review publication, Wine Enthusiast.
Pa Road 2018 Pinot Gris, produced by award-winning Marlborough winery, te Pa Family Vineyards, has won the title of ‘Best Buy’ from respected wine review publication, Wine Enthusiast.
The wine possesses a lovely floral bouquet with honey suckle, fennel and lingering spice. The palate is rich and juicy and explodes with flavours of nashi pear and guava leading into a long dry spicy finish.
te Pa’s Riverside Block of Pinot Gris is located on the silt/stone soils by the lower Wairau River. This young block is in its second year of production and produces ripe and generous stone fruit flavours. Pinot Gris flourishes on our gently sloping Redwood Hills Vineyard. Naturally low cropping, these blocks provides richly scented and spicy fruit with concentrated flavours and a lovely natural balance.
The warm summer resulted in te Pa’s Pinot Gris blocks ripening nice and early. The home estate Wairau Bar block was harvested on the 21st March. This was followed a week later by their estate-owned Redwood Hills blocks. A small block of Gewurztraminer was picked, and field blended with the Pinot Gris. The fruit was gently pressed to temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. It was fermented with yeast strains isolated from Alsace. The wine was left on light lees for 3 months prior to being finished and bottled.
