Spectacular scores with Wine Spectator

The latest scores to be released from industry bible, Wine Spectator, show that te Pā and sister brand Koha, continue to shine in the ever-competitive wine world.

Wine Spectator is renowned as one of the wine world's most stringent and well-regarded wine review publications.

Every year, the Wine Spectator team blind tastes over 15,000 different wines hailing from all corners of the globe, and spanning all of the varietals and styles under the sun.

So when six of our wines are ranked by WS team at 88 and 89 points, you know those scores are coming from experts in their field.

Koha 2016 Sauvignon Blanc

This gorgeously tropical Sauv was given 89 points by the Wine Spectator team - and if you've tried it, you'll know why! Check out the WS review below:

Pineapple, lime and peach flavours are fresh, vibrant and intense, with accents of lemon verbena on the crisp finish.

If you've got a bottle of this divine Sauv at home, why not give this gorgeous Koha Sauv Blanc steamer clam recipe by Shanna of Pineapple & Coconut blog a try.

te Pā 2016 Sauvignon Blanc

With 89 points awarded, this famous wine is a classic expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Lime sherbet, mango and tangerine flavors are intense and juicy, with plenty of intensity on the zingy finish.

te Pā 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Oke

As if the tasting note alone wouldn't make you salivate, our dreamy, complex Oke was awarded 89 points.

Aromatic, with smoke and chive accents to the pear and citrus core, gaining complexity on the long, silky, honeysuckle-laden finish.

Check out this deliciously creatively written review of our Oke by Stacey Briscoe of Briscoe Bites here. Stacey paired the Oke with a simple vegetarian pizza featuring mozzarella, broccoli, olives, and mushroom, which would have perfectly complimented the dry and textural characters of the wine.

te Pā 2015 Pinot Noir

The stuff dreams are made of. Our 2015 Pinot Noir is really hitting its straps now, but you could easily cellar it for another ten years - if you can possibly wait that long! Given 89 points from Wine Spectator, this wine is a total delight on the palate.

Smooth and creamy, with aromatic punctuation of orange zest and white pepper adding interest to the spicy core of cherry flavours

Described by San Fran wine and food writer Stacey Briscoe as 'an old soul in a young body', this Pinot Noir has been one of our most critically acclaimed wines to date. Check out Stacey's full review over on her Briscoe Bites website.

You can also check out some interesting commentary from our chief winemaker Liam McElhinney on the New Zealand Pinot Noir scene as recently featured on The Drinks Business.

te Pā 2016 Pinot Gris

A Pinot Gris for Pinot Gris lovers. We constantly hear about how much customers love this delicate and fruit-forward Gris. Awarded 89 points by Wine Spectator, this is the perfect food wine.

Fragrant and juicy, with Bartlett pear, melon and ripe peach flavours that are smooth and round. Succulent on the long finish.

If you're into Pinot Gris and you love to have a tonne of fun, you have to give this insanely beautiful and fresh White Wine Pineapple Slushie for big kids a try. With just a few simple ingredients and a bottle of our Gris, you'll be good to go.

If you're into an easy mid-week meal option to pair with this multi-award winning wine, look no further than The Food Nest's healthy and delicious roasted pumpkin, peanut and wasabi slaw

te Pā 2015 Pinot Noir Rosé

Described by many as 'summer in a glass', our Rosé is seriously delicious. With 88 points, it's a pretty pink wine for grown ups with great taste.

Spicy strawberry and cherry flavours are crisp and refreshing, with a squirt of lime juice on the finish.

A crisp and refreshing Rosé deserves an equally crisp and refreshing food match. The gorgeous Ashleigh of NZ food and lifestyle blog The Food Nest has created this divine fruit salad to match our Rosé - and we think its the perfect dish for Friday night drinks or a special weekend brunch. For extra style points, you could even try this salad served on bite-sized skewers, for the ultimate palate cleanser.
