Robert Parker's Wine Advocate is widely regarded as one of the world's most respected and consistent wine review publications.
In her third report for 2017 on New Zealand wines, Wine Advocate reviewer Lisa Perrotti-Brown tasted her way through the best and brightest wines from Kiwi producers - and our te Pā range scored exceptionally well, and also gained a special mention in Lisa's introductory comments:
"Although many high-quality wines from familiar names feature in this third installment of my New Zealand reporting for this year, I was also very excited to make a lot of new discoveries.
Highly recommended recent releases can be found from such familiar names
We're proud to be in the company of some of New Zealand's finest producers. Check out Lisa's full scores and tasting notes for our wines below.
te Pā 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Oke
This gorgeous oak fermented Sauvignon Blanc received 91 points from Wine Advocate. Lisa recommends you drink the Oke now, or you can cellar it until 2021.
"Fermented in French barrels and aged on full lees for ten months, the 2015 Oke Sauvignon Blanc leaps from the glass with honey drizzled white peaches, lemon tart and passion fruit notes plus touches of cedar and baking bread. Medium-bodied with a gorgeous creaminess to the texture, it packs a lot of stone fruit and savory flavors into a relatively elegant package with a crisp, refreshing line carrying the fruit to a long finish."
te Pā 2015 Chardonnay
Our multi award-winning Chardonnay was awarded 90 points, with the recommended drinking age from now to 2021.
"The 2015 Chardonnay reveals exuberant nectarine, pink grapefruit and lemon curd notes with nuances of cedar, struct match and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers intense stone fruit and citrus flavors with a touch of toasty oak to complement and plenty of zesty freshness, finishing long and creamy. The 2015 Chardonnay reveals exuberant nectarine, pink grapefruit and lemon curd notes with nuances of cedar, struct match and honeysuckle.
