Announced in early December, the results of the IWC 2017 demonstrate that the two ranges have incredible quality and flavour, and are as popular with judges and critics as they are with wine lovers.
te Pā 2015 Pinot Noir and Pā Road 2016 Sauvignon Blanc both took out silver in the prestigious awards, showing once again that these ranges are growing their reputation as high quality, deliciously drinkable wines.
te Pā 2015 Pinot Noir
What is it that makes our 15 Pinot such a gorgeous drop of wine? The IWC judges said:
"Aroma is very pretty and complex, with hints of fruit and wood. Silky palate leads to lots of fruity richness."
And here's what our winemakers have to say about our most awarded red wine:
"An intensely perfumed nose with high notes of red fruits and florals overlying more brooding characters of dark cherries, spice and cedar. The palate displays dark plums and berry fruits alongside anise and cinnamon spice. The dense spicy fruit is encased in supple tannins, and supported by bright acidity to give a long lingering spicy finish to the wine."
This Pinot Noir is a complex and intense wine, perfect for those who love to think about what their drinking.
For a food pairing, this Pinot is a great match with gamey meats like venison and duck, or anything cooked over a smoky BBQ. For less carnivorous appetites, try mushrooms, roast vegetables and nutty cheeses.

Pā Road 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
Since its launch in October 2016, Pā Road Sauvignon Blanc has been making a name for itself as a Marlborough Sauv of incredible pedigree, and a flavour profile to match. With the latest accolade from the IWC under its belt, this sublime Sauv is one to be reckoned with. Here's what the IWC judges had to say:
"Tropical, ripe mandarin and citrus on the palate with a zesty freshness. Well balanced and flavourful."
Sounds like the perfect wine for the festive season, if you ask us!
Our winemakers Liam McElhinney and Sam Bennett say of this awarded wine:
"The wine possesses generous aromas of grapefruit, black current and fresh herbs. The palate displays passionfruit, green nectarine and lime flavours. It possesses a subtle richness and has a lovely long finish of nettles and citrus."
