Our hand harvested 2015 Pinot Noir was aged for ten months in French oak barrels before being carefully bottled for your drinking pleasure, so we know a thing or two about good things taking time.
It’s no wonder then, that our new release Pinot has received 91 points and a 4.5-star rating from Sam Kim of popular independent wine review website, Wine Orbit.
Says Sam of our Pinot Noir:
“From the Omaka district in the Southern Valley, this is elegantly fruited and richly spicy. The engaging bouquet shows red/black cherry, game, floral and thyme characters with hints of nutmeg and earthy mushroom notes.”
91 points means that Sam has rated our wine as being of excellent quality, showing a high level of concentration and balance.
He recommends that this lovely Pinot Noir is drinking best between now and 2019 – so it’s the perfect time to grab a case or two, enjoy a bottle now and leave to enjoy over the next few years.
“The palate delivers lovely fruit focus and weight, wonderfully enhanced by silky texture and juicy fruit flavours, nicely structured by fine, polished tannins. The wine is complex and finishes delicately dry, making it a lovely food partner.”
If you enjoy a complex and elegant red, and can cook up a storm in the kitchen, then try our Pinot Noir with gamey meats like venison and duck, or anything cooked over a smoky barbeque. For those of you with less carnivorous appetites, try mushrooms, roast vegetables and nutty cheeses.
