Join us for a long lunch with fresh local clams and mussels from Cloudy Bay Clams, served family style, with delicious chilled wines from te Pā Family Vineyards. Set in a dreamy beach setting (complete with sand, umbrellas and flamingos, so bring your jandals and your sun hats) outside the iconic Thomas's Department Store, the inaugural Clam Bake in the Boom is the perfect way to start the festivities of the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival weekend.
Your ticket (available here) includes award-winning wine from te Pā Wines throughout the event, beautifully cooked and sustainably harvested local seafood from Cloudy Bay Clams, chorizo from Peter the Swiss Butcher, corn, and fresh baked breads from local bakery De Brood, with hot sauces from Boom hot sauce from Fran Nolan, and cold Boomtown beer. Chef Sander de Wildt will be cooking up the clam bake from his Karaka Cuisine food truck, and entertainment will be provided all afternoon by a local DJ. This is an R18 event.
