te Pa Pinot Noir wins place in New World's Premium NZ Selection

That's why we're proud to announce that our stunning te Pa 2021 Marlborough Pinot Noir has been awarded a Gold medal, 95 points, and a spot on the New World 'Premium New Zealand Selection' list! The Premium Selection is reserved for the best quality wines, that retail for over $25.

"Haysley MacDonald and his family founded te Pā in 2011, tracing family ancestry back to the early Maori settlers. Head Winemaker, Sam Bennett is no stranger to crafting award-winning wines.
His team created the New World Wine Awards Champion White Wine last year (Chardonnay) and his extensive winemaking experience, including overseas, has paid off again with this stellar Pinot Noir.
This premium wine was crafted from two of Marlborough’s finest hillside Pinot Noir vineyards. One in the Omaka Valley, and the other on a north facing slope in the Awatere Valley. The region was down 21% in volume in 2021 with the smallest harvest in six years, which plays into this wine's excellent quality and concentration. Opulent and savoury with appealing dark fruit, silky tannins and incredible length. A fantastic wine with pizza or wild mushroom risotto and a gorgeous red for summer BBQs."
Of the Premium New Zealand Selection, the judges were very complimentary about the range of wines that make it to the top tier of the competition:

The New World Premium New Zealand Wine Selection was made using the rigorous processes of the 2022 New World Wine Awards judging. These premium wines were blind-tasted and evaluated by the independent panel of expert wine judges using the internationally recognised 100-point scoring system. To be awarded a Gold medal a wine must score 95 points or above."
