Top 50 & Gold Medals at the NWWA

  • by Mikela Dennison

The New World Wine Awards are one of our favourite competitions, with a fantastic promotional programme and opportunities to showcase our top drops.

That's why we're extra excited to share that this year, we have four wines that have won Gold Medals in the fiercely competitive programme, and one wine in the NWWA Top 50!

The NWWA Top 50 is an exclusive list of the top 50 ranked wines in the competition, with a price tag on shelf of $30 or less, making our gorgeous te Pā Chardonnay the perfect candidate. In fact, this is the fourth time our te Pā Chardonnay has been on the NWWA Top 50 list, even winning a trophy one year for best white wine of the show, so it's a beloved wine in this competition and by customers too.

Here's the full list of our accolades in the 2025 New World Wine Awards:

  • te Pā Chardonnay 2023 Gold (96 points, Top 50)
  • te Pā Sauvignon Blanc 2025 Gold (95 points)
  • te Pā Reserve Seaside Sauvignon Blanc 2023 Gold (95 points)
  • Montford Estate Chardonnay 2023 Gold (95 points)

The gold medal and Top 50 wines are chosen from over 1,000 entries, so to have four wines receive a special gold award is a really special achievement for our team.

And here's a fun fact: To receive a gold medal, a wine will be tasted up to 19 times, by 11 senior judges, and will have been scored 95 points at least. So you can trust that every gold medal wine in the NWWA has been rigorously tasted and assessed by experts.

We're all so proud of these great results, and thank the amazing team at New World for all the support over the years. Make sure you head in-store, or shop online, to find one of these New World Wine Awards gold medal wines, today! You can explore the full range of NWWA winning wines on their website here.
