Trio of golds at the NZ International Wine Show

  • by Mikela Dennison

The New Zealand International Wine Show is one of the country's longest running wine competitions, with the results hugely anticipated every year.

This year, we are over the moon to be celebrating three gold medal wins in the competition, from across our family of brands!

Gold Medal Wines:

  • Pa Road 2024 Pinot Noir Rose (96 Points, Gold Medal)
  • Montford Estate 2024 Sauvignon Blanc (95 Points, Gold Medal)
  • te Pa 2022 Reserve Collection Auntsfield Chardonnay (95 Points, Gold Medal)

Pa Road 2024 Pinot Noir Rose

"With its beautiful coppery pink colour, this Rosé is a sophisticated, crisp, and easy drinking wine. Initial aromatics of white flowers, candy apples, crystallised ginger and exotic fruits are supported by some subtle base notes of aniseed and musk.

On the palate this wine displays bright, generous primary fruit, refreshing acidity and a medium body. Pair with fresh seafood such as salmon, oysters or white fish, or with juicy rock melon wrapped in prosciutto."

Montford Estate 2024 Sauvignon Blanc

"An ethereal, highly perfumed bouquet with white florals, fresh herbs, lime and grapefruit notes.

The palate is pure fruited with lime, mint, anise, and blackcurrant characters. Finely textured and beautifully balanced, this wine possesses a wet stone and talc minerality, which compliments the concentrated and elegant primary fruit profile."

te Pa 2022 Reserve Collection Auntsfield Chardonnay

"White peach and yellow grapefruit aromatics are supported by subtle cashew butter and citrus blossom aromatics. Some high-quality oak adds a wisp of flinty smoke and some vanilla pod, curry leaf, and butterscotch notes.

The palate is beautifully textured, taut but elegant with a generosity of flavour. Marzipan, preserved lemon, and spice flavours sprinkled over a core of vanilla bean infused crème Brulé. A delicate oyster shell minerality gives way to a long lingering finish."

A track record of wins

We've enjoyed great success with the NZ International Wine Show over the years, including a trophy win for our te Pa Pinot Gris, and for our Montford Estate Rose just last year.
